Lenny Tylman, MS Psych
Mr. Tylman earned his master’s degree in Psychology from the University of Ukraine, in the former Soviet Union, where he worked for 10 years as a clinical psychologist, specializing in creating special work processes for cognitively impaired patients.
In 1991, Mr. Tylman founded, in New York, a successful consulting and management firm specializing in providing services for medical professionals, and managing clinical research and development for multi-national pharmaceutical firms. He joined Lenco Diagnostic Laboratory, Inc. in 2003.
Mr. Tylman is currently the Chairman of the American Brotherhood for the Russian Disabled (ABRUD), within which he works to provide disabled people with social rehabilitation, education and training to help them live independent, productive and healthy lives. His philanthropic and charitable endeavours earned Mr. Tylman the Ellis Island Medal of Honor for distinguishing himself as an outstanding American citizen, and an award from the National Federation of the Italian-American Society for his successful business ventures and charitable contributions.
Elena Agranovsky, MD, PhD
Since 2004, Dr. Agranovsky serves as the clinical leader of Lenco Diagnostic Laboratory, Inc. She ensures the implementation of best practices and procedures, and the delivery of consistently high-quality services that are tailored to the needs of our physician clients and their patients.
Dr. Agranovsky is board certified from the American Board of Pathology in anatomic and clinical pathology. She obtained her medical degree from the Sanitary Hygiene Medical Institute, in San Petersburg, Russia, where she also gained her PhD in immunology, from the Vaccine and Serum Research Institute.
Dr. Agranovsky completed fellowships in hematopatology, at Beth Israel Medical Center, and in blood bank and immunohematology, at the New York Blood Center. She has more than 20 years of research experience in hematology and immunology. Prior to joining our company, Dr. Agranovsky worked at Bayside Laboratory and the Office of Medical Examiner, County of Rockland, New York. Formerly, she was chief of the hematology laboratory at Elmhurst General Medical Center and chief of clinical chemistry at Wyckoff Heights Medical Center, Brooklyn, New York.
Thomas E. Asher
VP of Operations and Compliance Officer
Mr. Asher supervises all sale and business development activities at Lenco Diagnostic Laboratory, Inc. His high level of expertise and great commitment mean we can guarantee that all physicians who choose our laboratory for their patients’ needs always receive the highest quality level of service.
Mr. Asher is responsible for the implementation of Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems with our clients. He superintends the Client Service and Logistics departments, and ensures that all regulatory requirements are met.
With more than 20 years of experience in the clinical diagnostic laboratory industry, Mr. Asher is one of the most respected senior executive figures in the field. Before joining our company, he worked for National Health Laboratories, Enzo Clinical Laboratory and Quest Diagnostics. His unrivalled leadership and innovative thinking skills have helped transform our laboratory into a state-of-the-art facility, and one of the top regional clinical laboratories in the New York metropolitan area.
Robert Boorstein, M.D., Ph.D
Assistant Medical Director
Since 2013, Dr. Boorstein has been serving as the Assistant Medical Director of Lenco Diagnostic Laboratory, Inc. He has focused on initiating new programs in Molecular Virology, Genetics, Oncology and Toxicology.
Dr. Boorstein is board certified from the American Board of Pathology in anatomic and clinical pathology. He obtained his MD degree at Harvard Medical School, and his PhD in Pharmacology from Harvard University. He completed his residency and fellowship at NYU School of Medicine. He has published over 40 peer reviewed publications with a research focus on the interface between therapeutics and diagnostics.
Prior to joining Lenco, Dr. Boorstein was Medical Director at Enzo Clinical Laboratory in Farmingdale, NY. Prior to that, he was Medical Director of Pathology at Bellevue Hospital and Lincoln Hospital in New York. He is has extensive experience in laboratory operations and new test development, and has written and spoken widely on these topics.
Gary A. Rapone, Vice President
Sales and Business Development
Mr. Rapone earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Economics and Marketing from Fordham University, Bronx, New York and is responsible for the management, training and supervision of the entire team of business development and sales professionals representing Lenco Diagnostic Laboratories, Inc. in the marketplace.
With almost 30 years of experience in the New York clinical diagnostic laboratory industry, Mr. Rapone brings to Lenco an extensive level of technical expertise in all areas of laboratory studies (including special chemistry, immunology and toxicology) and a superior spirit of customer service. Prior to joining our Company in 2014, Mr. Rapone spent his entire career at Bendiner & Schlesinger, Inc. Medical Laboratories.
