On March 11, 2020, the World Health Organization (WHO) declared COVID-19 a global pandemic. As COVID-19 has spread around the globe, Lenco Diagnostic Laboratories has diligently focused its efforts on expanding high quality testing to help be part of the solution for New York- one of the continuously hardest hit areas throughout this public health crisis.
Lenco Diagnostic Laboratories offers options for serology (antibody) qualitative testing for the detection of antibodies in the blood that are produced by the body in response to SARS-CoV-2 virus. Lenco offers IgG or IgM serology testing to detect the presence of antibodies against COVID-19. The test helps physicians determine whether patients were recently exposed or infected with the COVID-19 virus and may also help indicate the overall immune response to the virus. Antibody tests are performed using blood specimens collected from individuals who may have been infected with COVID-19. When clinically indicated, the tests may help physicians determine whether patients were recently infected or exposed to the COVID-19 infection in the past, and may determine an overall immune response to the virus.
Patients should contact their healthcare provider for testing requests. A laboratory prescription or requisition from an authorized healthcare provider is required for all testing. You may bring your prescription or requisition to a Lenco Patient Service Center to have your blood collected. We recommend you schedule your appointment in advance. Specimens may be collected by authorized healthcare providers. Patients who have symptoms of COVID-19 should NOT come to Lenco’s Patient Service Centers for testing. Patients visiting a Lenco Patient Service Center must wear a mask or face cover and must not have experienced COVID-19 symptoms in the last 14 days. Please refer to CDC guidelines for the most up to date information.
Antibody testing is covered by most insurances. The self-pay price for testing is $50 for IgM testing and $50 for IgG testing.
Patients may access their results for the COVID-19 Serology (Antibody) test using Lenco’s Patient Portal.
Providers may order a COVID-19 Serology (Antibody) test, and obtain results for patients using Lenco’s Provider Portal.
