COVID-19 Molecular Test

COVID-19

2019 Novel Coronavirus Disease (COVID-19)

On March 11, 2020, the World Health Organization (WHO) declared COVID-19 a global pandemic. As COVID-19 has spread around the globe, Lenco Diagnostic Laboratories has diligently focused its efforts on expanding high quality testing to help be part of the solution for New York- one of the continuously hardest hit areas throughout this public health crisis.

Molecular Test for COVID-19 Infection

Lenco Diagnostic Laboratories offer high-throughput, automated testing that utilizes RT-PCR (Real-Time Polymerase Chain Reaction) diagnostic testing to provide a molecular-based assay for the qualitative detection of the SARS-COV-2 virus. It is performed using only respiratory specimens of patients who meet COVID-19 clinical and/or epidemiological criteria for testing. Specimens (swabs) for the COVID-19 test should only be collected by authorized healthcare providers.

How to Get Tested for a COVID-19 Infection

Lenco Patient Service Centers DO NOT collect RT-PCR specimens (swabs) from patients. Patients who have been exposed to COVID-19 or develop symptoms should consult their physician or healthcare provider. Please refer to CDC guidelines for the most up to date information.

Is COVID-19 Testing Covered by Insurance

COVID-19 RT-PCR testing is covered by most insurances. The self-pay price for testing is $100.
